We are excited to announce Grey Eminence: Heart of Europe, the first board game from The Nestinars!
For years, we have been building Grey Eminence as a grand strategy experience about history, power, systems, and the people who shape the fate of nations. With Heart of Europe, we are bringing that same spirit to the tabletop.
Set in late-medieval Central Europe, Grey Eminence: Heart of Europe takes players into the turbulent world of the Holy Roman Empire: a fractured political landscape of ambitious rulers, shifting diplomacy, medieval warfare, imperial politics, and the constant struggle for power. While commanding armies is a core part of the game, success will also require timely negotiations, diplomatic maneuvering, and at least an occasional betrayal.
This announcement marks an important milestone for us. The Nestinars began as a collective dedicated to pushing grand strategy forward in video games. Entering the board game market is a natural extension of this ideal. Tabletop games have always been one of the purest expressions of strategy: face-to-face decisions, visible consequences, and the drama of agreements made and broken across the table.
Grey Eminence: Heart of Europe is our first entry into this space, and we see it as both a standalone board game and a continuation of our core philosophy: deep strategy, historical depth, and meaningful player agency.
While development on the video game Grey Eminence remains paused, we are confident that this step will take us closer to resuming our grand work.
We’ll be sharing more details about Grey Eminence: Heart of Europe soon, including gameplay information, development updates, and the planned launch date of the game’s Kickstarter campaign.
