Community Manager
Part Time
Responsibilities
- Identify and resolve community conflicts or crises quickly and efficiently
- Manage volunteer moderators across Discord and Reddit
- Set up community guidelines and moderation rules using a "player-first" mindset
- Participate in the planning, creation, and distribution of content across social media, Discord, and community forums
- Contribute in choosing and configuring community management tools and bots
- Act as the bridge between players and developers, synthesizing user feedback into actionable insights for the engineering and design teams
Requirements
- Experience managing communities for video games or board games, preferrably strategy games
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills (native or near-native English fluency)
- Experience in a remote work environment with any agile method
- Experience managing high-volume Discord servers and Reddit communities
- Advanced knowledge of social media and best practices (Twitter/X, Facebook, YouTube)
- Familiar with distribution strategies using newsletter platforms or changelogs
- Ability to work with autonomy to identify and resolve problems
Good to have
- Experience with basic graphic design (Photoshop/Canva) or video editing
- Awareness of influencer marketing and streamer relations
- Familiarity with streaming platforms (Twitch/YouTube Live) and setup
- Experience with copywriting for patch notes and technical devlogs
- Benchmarking experience with competitor community strategies
- Knowledge of advanced strategies to improve user acquisition and viral growth
