Responsibilities

• Design and layout high-quality game components, including game boards, cards, tokens, player mats, and rulebooks
• Develop a consistent visual identity that balances historical accuracy with modern gameplay readability (UI/UX)
• Create intuitive iconography and typography systems to communicate complex strategy mechanics clearly
• Collaborate with game designers to iterate on prototypes, moving from low-fidelity playtest kits to polished, print-ready assets
• Produce marketing assets for social media, crowdfunding campaigns (Kickstarter/Gamefound), and digital storefronts (Steam/Itch.io)
• Prepare final files for print production, ensuring correct color profiles, bleed, and cutting lines

Requirements

• Proven experience in graphic design for board games, card games, or strategy video games (Portfolio required)
• Expert proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign)
• Experience in a remote work environment with the ability to receive and incorporate feedback iteratively
• Strong understanding of information architecture and layout hierarchy—you know how to make a card look beautiful without obscuring what it does
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills (native or near-native English fluency)
• Ability to work with autonomy to identify design problems and offer creative solutions

Good to have

• A passion for history, cartography, or strategy games
• Experience with Tabletop Simulator (importing assets and setting up mods)
• Knowledge of CSS and web design
• Knowledge of 3D software (Blender/Maya) for creating product mockups or rendering tokens
• Experience preparing files for distinct printing techniques (foil stamping, linen finish, punch boards)
• Basic video editing or motion graphics skills for trailers and social clips
